I can see why this is divisive, it's very 7/10 and feels like a AA game - which is not something you should be saying about a flagship AAA title. I don't even dislike it conceptually, but having the same lines repeat dozens of times is ridiculous.) (And gods does the banter overstay its welcome, the option to turn down/off Cuff dialogue is a godsend. Frey seems not to resonate with everyone, but I found her intensely relatable - even if the banter doesn't always feel organic. All the same, I paid half off for Forspoken and at that price I definitely feel like it's worth playing. In a lot of ways, it's a very by the books Ubisoft style open world - and I'd be hard pressed to disagree with the assertion that its map design is a generation out of date. The motion capture is outstanding, and I've found most of the character writing compelling. Despite being poorly paced and occasionally badly written (the prologue is insulting), Forspoken is a hidden gem with fun combat and an expansive-if-empty open world.
